Quiet and peaceful, this family motel is situated in picturesque Hanmer Springs Alpine Village, North Canterbury. Only 90 minutes from Christchurch City and Christchurch Airport, 2 hours from Kaikoura, 3 hours from Westport and Greymouth and an easy 4-hour drive from Nelson. We are also close to ski fields and the Southern Alps. Shuttle buses service our area daily.
To find us from Jollies Pass Road, turn left into Bristol Street, then turn right onto Torquay Terrace.

Walks or Hikes
Whether you're after a quiet amble or a hardcore hike, Hanmer Springs is a walker's paradise. The variety of walks is incredible – from short leisurely strolls along forest paths to hikes up Mt Isobel. Some of the tracks traverse the Heritage Forest Area where the exotic trees were planted over 100 years ago, while other tracks pass through pockets of native mountain beech.

Hanmer Springs Golf Club
Hanmer Springs Golf Club is more than just a popular country course in New Zealand. It is a course that boasts some of North Canterbury's finest scenery which takes you on a journey through stunning views of the alpines and challenging golf holes. The perfectly manicured browntop grass presents the golfer with a standard playing condition all year round and the course layout is suitable for all ages and abilities. Open 364 days a year (closed Christmas day), the course is open to visitors, green fee players and corporate groups. At Hanmer Springs Golf Club, you can hire clubs, trundlers, motorised carts as well as booking the clubhouse for private functions.
Situated on the busy main street of Hanmer Springs, Rustic Café offers a wide range of meals and beverages. Hanmer Springs Ski Area
The Hanmer Springs ski area offers New Zealand grassroots skiing at its best! The fun, super affordable and relaxed culture of the club run mountain sets it worlds apart from the slick, corporate options of today. The ski field has terrain suited to both beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders. From the base area there is a tailor-made learners' area to get you started, with a fixed grip learners' tow and instructors are on hand for group and private lessons. The Shirtfront rope tow accesses groomed and ungroomed intermediate and off-piste runs and provides a great access point for half of the large Bordeaux Basin. The remainder of this large area is accessed from a long Poma lift that takes you to the summit of Mt St Patrick.
